The Millionaires Walk

← Back to update

Have you ever done the 'Millionaires Walk' along the cliff tops between Sorrento and Portsea? This walk is definitely worthwhile as not only will you be blown away by the breathtaking views over Port Philip Bay, you will also walk through the backyards of magnificent homes along the cliff tops.

This incredible walk makes up part of the Sorrento / Portsea Artists trail.  You can start the Millionaires walk at the end of Point King Road in Portsea. Go to the end of Point King Road and turn right going through a green gate and continue along the track stopping to admire all of the sights along the way.

Towards the end of the track, you will reach a high charcoal grey fence, which is Lentell Avenue, Sorrento. At this point, you can go through a gate (which is the end of the walk) and stroll to the Sorrento main street or foreshore or walk back via Point Nepean Road or the track again. It is around 1.5km’s one way.

There are several gates along the way, which may make you feel like you are trespassing, but they are all part of the walking trail.  Make sure you don’t miss the private jetties and beautifully built boat-houses that belong to many of the magnificent houses along the way.

The terrain is hilly in places but well maintained and is rated easy, making it suitable for seniors and children.

If you would prefer to take a guided tour, Dunball’s Walking Tours runs a guided walk for $30 per person. http://www.mornpenwalks.com
